What is jakelawrence.xyz?

It's Jake Lawrence's personal site — a single place for his research essays, software projects, fiction, interactive games, and small browser-based utilities. The homepage is a reverse-chronological feed across all of it, and the Compass page lays everything out in one map. The recurring thread is one question asked in different forms: how classification, infrastructure, and systems shape what we can see and do.

What should I read first?

Start with the Research section for the long-form essays — that's where the central ideas live. If you'd rather poke at something interactive, the Games section has playable demos, and Utilities has small single-purpose tools that run entirely in your browser. The homepage feed is the fastest way to see what's most recent across everything.

What can I do with the Ask / Search bar?

The bar does three things at once. Type a few words to instantly filter the site's content; type a destination to jump straight there; or ask a full question and the concierge answers in plain language, grounded only in what's actually on the site, with the sources it checked shown beneath the answer. Open it from the floating button, the homepage box, or with Cmd-K / Ctrl-K.
