Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Heddle ("Heddle", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using Heddle, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who can use Heddle
You must be at least 18 years old to use Heddle. If you use Heddle on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials you use to access Heddle and for any activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are intended for a single human; do not share an account or transfer it without our consent. Notify us promptly at hello@heddle.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the blueprints, item banks, curricula, and other materials you create or upload to Heddle ("Your Content"). You grant Heddle the limited license needed to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content for the purpose of operating the service for you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you put into Heddle.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Heddle except where applicable law expressly permits.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise access Heddle in an automated way that materially burdens our infrastructure.
- Use Heddle to send spam, phishing attempts, malware, illegal content, or content that infringes another party's rights.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or organization.
- Interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including by probing or circumventing authentication.
6. Beta status
Heddle is in active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and we do not yet offer formal uptime or support service-level agreements. We will give reasonable notice before making changes that materially reduce functionality for existing accounts.
7. Disclaimers
Heddle is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Heddle helps credentialing programs author and operate their own materials; it is not itself an accredited certifying body and is not a substitute for the authority of one.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heddle and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Heddle in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
9. Termination
You may stop using Heddle at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. On request, we will provide a reasonable window for you to export Your Content before deletion.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced to active accounts and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Heddle after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
